Wallenius Wilhelmsen has suspended all operations in Russia and Belarus in response to the invasion of the Ukraine.

The company stopped taking cargo bookings for Russia and discontinued operations on 24 February. Cargo that was already on the water bound for Russia has been rerouted to other ports.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen has now decided to formally suspend operations in Russia and Belarus until further notice.

“The invasion of Ukraine is a tragedy. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the people of Ukraine and our thoughts are with the millions of innocent people directly affected,” said Torbjørn Wist, acting CEO and CFO at Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

“Our main concern is the safety and well-being of our employees and partners. We have employees in Russia and partners in Ukraine.”
