ZIM is adding a second direct premium service between Asia and the US targeted at the e-commerce sector.

NYSE-listed ZIM is launching the ZIM Ecommerce Baltimore Express (ZBX) this month linking Yantian, China and Cai Mep, Vietnam with Baltimore, New York and Boston in the US.

The service operated solely by ZIM will have guaranteed space and equipment in Baltimore and a late cut-off from Asian ports on a fortnightly basis. The service is designed to offer an alternative to air freight for e-commerce providers.

Eli Glickman, ZIM President & CEO commented: “The opening of this new service is another example of our efforts to develop our speedy and dedicated premium lines, which constitute a highly competitive alternative to air freight. As part of our vision and strategy, we are taking initiatives to support our customers especially during this difficult time of supply chain disruptions.

In 2020 ZIM launched its first premium service targeting the e-commerce sector between South China and Los Angeles.
