Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) resumed normal operations on Sunday evening after a brief outage that prevented thousands of users from loading posts and refreshing their timelines.
According to outage-tracking website Down detector, reports began around 5:30 p.m. EDT, peaking at over 4,000 complaints within minutes. The number of reports declined after 6:45 p.m., indicating that the service had largely recovered.
During the disruption, users turned to other social media platforms to share their frustration, reporting issues with feeds, timelines, and profile pages. However, X has not issued an official statement explaining the cause of the outage.
The incident follows a series of recent service disruptions, including a major global outage on July 18 and another on June 22, when users experienced frozen timelines, loading failures, and feed refresh issues before the platform was restored.
