I recently read a quote that resonated strongly with me “There are 4 things we can never recover in our life. A stone after it has been thrown into the valley. Words after they have been spoken. An opportunity once it is missed. And time once it has gone.” It’s a quote by Deanna Wadsworth. Now these four things may connote different things to different people. From each person emanates a different perspective. Each one of us have different life experiences to which we would relate with these principles. Each individual might have his own “stone” he would wish he had never thrown, his own word he’d wish he had never uttered and his own occasions he has missed. And we know that time doesn’t stop for anyone. It is the most precious thing in this world.

We make several mistakes, both personally and professionally, and it is imperative for us to be conscious of these mistakes. Although we may not be able to recover the moments wherein we make these mistakes, but we must choose what we do next. If you realize you have recklessly thrown a stone or a harsh word, be willing to humble yourself and apologize. Take the time to make amends and choose to be better in the future.

We live in a dynamic world which is updating itself on a regular basis. So every time an opportunity presents itself for you to learn, be it a skill or a hobby, grab it without hesitation. If you purchase a computer today with a new software, in three months’ period it will notify you of updates and upgrades that you need to do.

Utilize your time well and your time will treat you well, leading you into an overall sense of happiness. In this New Year, invest in yourself and invest in taking care of your body. Invest in discovering your purpose, your passion and your calling. Invest in nurturing and nourishing your relationships and your hobbies. Because investing in yourself is one of the best returns on investments you can get. Your future is in large part governed by your ability and inclination to invest in yourself today. And if for some reasons you find yourself struck, in any of these or some of these or all of these then the New Year brings a fresh opportunity to press the refresh button and refresh the page of your life.

It is never too late to change. You could be 20 or 90, life has many moments to offer you. So think about your actions, be kind with your words, relish the occasions, and utilize your time to the fullest.

-God Bless You
