A major fire at Dakshin Energy’s industrial facility in Paravada, Anakapalle district of Andhra Pradesh, claimed the lives of two workers and left two others feared trapped on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Trinadh (27) and Venkatesh (24), both residents of the Atchutapuram area in Anakapalle district.
According to local residents, Dakshin Energy is engaged in the production of plastic pyrolysis oil and carbon black. While the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined, the presence of large quantities of plastic material within the facility is believed to have contributed to the rapid spread and intensity of the blaze.
Workers at the site reported that two employees were charred to death after the fire broke out, while two others were believed to be trapped inside the premises. Several workers managed to escape the facility as the flames engulfed parts of the plant.
Firefighting teams rushed to the scene and launched operations to contain the fire. Police officials stated that efforts were underway to bring the situation under control and ensure the safety of those at the site.
Authorities said that teams from various departments would conduct a detailed inspection of the facility once the fire is extinguished. An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the incident and assess any safety lapses that may have contributed to the accident.
The tragedy is the latest in a series of industrial accidents reported in the Visakhapatnam region in recent months, raising concerns over workplace safety and industrial risk management in the area.
