Two helicopters collided midair near McMinnville Airport in Oregon on October 29, prompting the closure of both lanes of Highway 233, approximately one mile west of Dayton.

According to the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews responded at around 2:15 pm near Southeast Highway 154 and Stringtown Road. The aircraft involved were identified as a Robinson R22 carrying one pilot and an Airbus H125 carrying two people, bringing the total number of people involved to three.

The Oregon Department of Transportation closed the highway and advised motorists to use alternative routes while emergency crews attended the scene.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed that it was gathering information and would lead the investigation. Authorities had not immediately released details about the condition of those involved.
