The Bihar Education Department has suspended two government school teachers in Buxar district following allegations of misconduct with a girl student, circulation of an objectionable video and threats through audio messages.
The action was taken against assistant teacher Virendra Prasad and teacher Arvind Kumar, who are posted at Middle School, Nathuni Ahir Ke Dera, in Dumraon block.
Following a complaint from local residents, the Block Education Officer submitted a report to the District Education Officer on August 31. Both teachers were suspended with immediate effect on September 2, and authorities said further action would be taken to register an FIR against them.
The school’s headmaster reportedly stated that the girl seen in the viral video was not a student of the school. The headmaster has also been asked to submit an explanation and take necessary action.
Meanwhile, the district administration has requested the Education Department to withdraw the State Teacher Award 2026 given to the school’s headmaster, Mohammad Imam Ali Ansari, who was Buxar’s selected candidate for the award.
