US President Donald Trump on Thursday joked that the ongoing Iran conflict could prevent him from attending the wedding of his eldest son, saying he would “get killed” whether he attended or skipped the ceremony.

Speaking to reporters during an Oval Office interaction, Trump said the timing of the wedding was complicated due to escalating international tensions and the scrutiny surrounding presidential travel.

“He’d like me to go… This not good timing for me. I have a thing called IRAN… If I do attend, I get killed. If I don’t attend, I get killed. By the fake news, of course,” Trump said.

Donald Trump Jr’s Bahamas Wedding

According to reports, Donald Trump Jr is set to marry Palm Beach socialite and model Bettina Anderson this weekend at a private ceremony in the Bahamas.

The event is expected to be an intimate affair, with only close friends and family members invited. Trump indicated that his attendance remains uncertain because of global developments and security concerns.

“That’s one I can’t win on,” he added, referring to the criticism he expected from the media regardless of his decision.

Engagement Announced at White House Event

Trump Jr announced his engagement to Anderson in December during a White House holiday party. Reports said the couple got engaged at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland.

Anderson later hosted a bridal shower at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach.

Trump Jr’s Previous Relationships

The upcoming ceremony will mark Trump Jr’s second marriage. He was previously married to Vanessa Trump, with whom he shares five children. The couple divorced in 2018.

Vanessa Trump recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Before his relationship with Anderson, Trump Jr had also been engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, currently the US ambassador to Greece. Their relationship ended in 2024.
