Jaipur: A viral video from Rajasthan’s Ranthambore National Park has sparked outrage online, showing a tiger surrounded by a cluster of safari vehicles, leaving it with barely any room to move.

The clip, shared on Instagram by user Monty Bhatt, captures a chaotic scene on a narrow forest track. Multiple jeeps are seen crowding around as the tiger stands in the middle, seemingly unsure of where to go. As more vehicles arrive, the situation begins to resemble a traffic jam—inside the animal’s own habitat.

Tourists can be seen eagerly clicking photos while the tiger pauses, appearing visibly unsettled. In the caption, the user wrote, “The tiger came very close and the jeeps didn’t give the space to the tiger in Ranthambore National Park.”

The video has triggered widespread criticism on social media, with many users condemning the lack of discipline and sensitivity shown by visitors and safari operators.

Several pointed out that such crowding can significantly stress wildlife and may even provoke defensive or aggressive behaviour. “The tiger looks more civilised and mature among all these humans,” one user commented sarcastically.

Others questioned the management of safari operations. “The tiger seems to be facing a traffic jam in its own home,” another wrote, while a third added, “Sad. Where’s the wild in this? It’s worse than a zoo—at least humans can’t enter enclosures there.”

The incident has once again raised serious concerns about wildlife tourism practices in India, underlining the urgent need for stricter regulation, responsible tourism, and maintaining safe distances to ensure both animal welfare and visitor safety.
