An 18-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death in Naraina late Saturday following an argument that began with a joking demand to be called “papa.” As of Sunday night, no arrests had been made in the case.

Police identified the victim as Sumit Giri, a resident of Naraina.

According to police, the incident unfolded when Sumit and his friend Aman Singh ran into two acquaintances, Narsingh and Aman. An officer said Aman Singh had jokingly told Narsingh to call him “papa,” prompting Aman to threaten him with a knife. When Sumit objected to the threat, the confrontation escalated, and Aman allegedly stabbed him. A mutual friend, Sargam, who arrived at the scene and tried to defuse the situation, was also injured in the process.

Investigation into the case is ongoing.
