International maritime welfare charity Sailors’ Society is delighted to be returning to Athens to attend Posidonia 2026 and thanks the organisers for once again naming the charity as a supported charity partner for this year’s event.

Taking place next week (June 1-5) and bringing together thousands of exhibitors, companies and maritime leaders from more than 140 countries across the world, Posidonia remains one of the shipping industry’s most important global gatherings.

Sara Baade, CEO of Sailors’ Society, said: “Sailors’ Society is proud to be part of the event as it continues its mission to support seafarers and their families worldwide.

“We are deeply grateful for the long-standing partnership and support of Posidonia. Events like this provide an invaluable platform to highlight the importance of maritime welfare and strengthen corporate support for our work across the globe.

“As the industry comes together in Greece from every corner of the world, it is a powerful reminder that seafarers are at the heart of global trade — and that they need our support now more than ever.

“Recent developments in the Gulf region serve as a timely reminder of the pressures and uncertainties faced daily by seafarers working at the frontline of international commerce. Sailors’ Society continues to provide practical, emotional and spiritual support to seafarers navigating these challenges wherever they are in the world.

We look forward to reconnecting with long-standing colleagues, meeting new acquaintances and speaking with anyone interested in learning more about its global work supporting seafarers and their families.”

Alongside the main conference, the week also hosts the Posidonia Games, which provides the ideal opportunity to raise funds for the Society’s vital work.

The Games include the hugely popular 5×5 Posidonia Shipsoccer Tournament and the mass participation Posidonia Running Event, where runners from all over the globe take to the streets of Piraeus.
