Amritsar: Punjab Police have dismantled two cross-border terror modules allegedly backed by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), arresting nine individuals, including four juveniles, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said on Tuesday.
In the first operation, police arrested Vansh Kumar (19) and Anmol Singh (20), both residents of Patti in Tarn Taran, along with Harman Singh (24), Sukhdev Singh (30), and Sukhman Singh (19) from Amritsar.
Security personnel recovered three illegal pistols, nine live cartridges, four petrol bombs, and a stolen motorcycle from the accused.
According to Commissioner Bhullar, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects were acting on the instructions of ISI handlers to recruit local youth for terror-related activities and carry out surveillance of security installations.
In a separate operation linked to the crackdown, Punjab Police apprehended two juveniles and recovered a .32-bore country-made pistol, two petrol bombs, and a lighter from their possession.
Police said further investigation is underway to identify additional links and uncover the wider network behind the modules.
