New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday delivered a stern warning to Pakistan, declaring that Operation Sindoor remains ongoing and any future terror attack on Indian soil will trigger “disastrous” consequences.

Addressing soldiers at the Northern Command headquarters in Udhampur during International Yoga Day celebrations, Singh said, “Any terror attack on India will prove disastrous for Pakistan. India is fully prepared to take decisive action against terrorism.”

Standing alongside Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Singh emphasized, “Operation Sindoor is not over. Through this mission, we have sent a clear message to Pakistan that its support for terrorism will not be tolerated. Our responses will only escalate if provoked again.”

Operation Sindoor involved targeted strikes by Indian Armed Forces on terror infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir during the night of May 6–7. The operation was launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 people dead, most of them tourists.

Calling the operation a natural continuation of the 2016 surgical strikes and the 2019 Balakot air strikes, Singh said, “We have made it clear that Pakistan’s ‘death by a thousand cuts’ strategy will fail. Our resolve is stronger than ever.”

Later in the day, while addressing soldiers during a traditional barakhana gathering held ahead of Yoga Day, Singh urged troops to prioritize both physical fitness and mental resilience.

“If our soldiers are strong, our borders remain secure. And when our borders are secure, India stands strong,” he said, underlining the importance of holistic well-being in a soldier’s life.
