Ocean Network Express will launch its Mediterranean Africa Express (MAX) service linking Far East Asia, Northern Europe and West Africa via Algeciras and Tangier, according to the company advisory.

The weekly loop anchors on Mediterranean hub transshipment and runs Algeciras–Tangier–Dakar–Tema–Lekki–Abidjan–Algeciras, adding capacity and tightening schedule integrity across the corridor.

The service is structured to reinforce connections into West Africa while feeding east–west trades through the Strait gateways, with network design focused on predictable transit windows and hub efficiency.

First arrival at Algeciras is scheduled for 7 July 2026.

Ocean Network Express is a Singapore-headquartered liner operator established through the integration of the container shipping businesses of NYK, MOL and K Line.
