JAMMU: The Jammu & Kashmir government on Thursday denied allegations of irregularities in the procurement of 133 luxury vehicles during the 2024–25 financial year, asserting that all purchases by various departments and public sector undertakings were made in accordance with prescribed norms.
In a written reply in the Assembly, Transport Minister Satish Sharma said there had been no deviation from established procedures and rejected claims that the acquisitions imposed an undue burden on the public exchequer.
However, he acknowledged that norms were relaxed in certain instances, citing difficult terrain, specific operational needs, and the nature of official duties as reasons for such exemptions.
