Nashik: The controversy involving Tata Consultancy Services has escalated further, with city police arresting four employees in a new case alleging sexual harassment and hurting religious sentiments.

The accused were already in judicial custody in connection with earlier complaints. According to ACP (Crime) Sandeep Mitke, who heads the Special Investigation Team (SIT) under Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, the latest FIR was filed based on a complaint by a male employee.

Wife also allegedly harassed

Police said that while the complainant is a man, charges of sexual harassment were invoked because his wife—who also worked at the same TCS facility—was allegedly targeted by the accused.

The four have been booked under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:

  • Section 75 (sexual harassment)
  • Section 79 (insulting the modesty of a woman through words or gestures)
  • Section 299 and 302 (acts intended to outrage or wound religious sentiments)

Multiple cases, widening probe

With this latest development, a total of nine cases have now been registered against eight TCS employees, including two women.

Police said:

  • Six male employees face multiple cases
  • Two women accused are named in one case each
  • One woman accused is still absconding

Among those arrested is an employee whose interim bail plea was rejected by a sessions court earlier this week.

Investigation ongoing

The SIT continues to probe all linked complaints as the case widens, with authorities examining multiple allegations emerging from within the same workplace.
