A 50-year-old man was killed and two members of his family injured after a dispute between neighbours over dumping cow dung turned violent in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district.
Argument Escalates Into Deadly Attack
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning in Sarwad Jamunia village under the jurisdiction of Bilpank police station when 48-year-old Rajubai Gurjar went to dump cow dung into a pit near her house.
According to the victim’s family, women from the neighbouring household of Amarsingh Gurjar objected, leading to an argument that quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.
Victim Dies After Alleged Assault
Family members alleged that Amarsingh Gurjar’s sons attacked Rajubai, her husband Kailash and their son Vimal with swords and iron rods.
Kailash succumbed to his injuries following the assault.
Woman Loses Four Fingers While Trying to Intervene
Rajubai suffered severe injuries during the attack, with four fingers reportedly severed while she attempted to protect her husband. Their son Vimal also sustained head injuries.
Dispute Linked to Land Usage
Vimal alleged that Amarsingh, his sons Omprakash and Anil, along with female members of the family, carried out the attack. According to him, the dispute centred on ownership and use of the area behind their houses, with the accused claiming it should remain a pathway rather than be used for dumping cow dung.
Murder Case Registered
Police initially registered a case of attempted murder against six individuals. Following Kailash’s death, the charges were upgraded to murder.
Two Accused Detained, Search Continues
Bilpank police station officials said two accused have been taken into custody, while efforts are underway to locate and arrest the remaining suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
