Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri has publicly threatened Pakistan’s political and military leadership over any possible move towards recognising Israel, warning of violent consequences if the country alters its long-standing policy.
Addressing a rally after Eid al-Adha prayers, Kasuri declared that any leader who “even thought of recognising Israel” would face elimination.
“He will be assassinated, destroyed and ruined,” Kasuri said during the gathering.
His remarks come amid renewed international discussions around the Abraham Accords, with US President Donald Trump reportedly urging several Muslim-majority nations, including Pakistan, to establish diplomatic ties with Israel.
During the speech, Kasuri directly targeted Pakistan’s top leadership and warned against any behind-the-scenes efforts to shift the country’s stance on Israel.
He also claimed that no global power could force Islamic nations into recognising Israel and referred to growing defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a strategic counterweight to Israeli influence.
Throughout the address, Kasuri repeatedly invoked rhetoric centred on jihad, martyrdom and the conflict in Palestine in an apparent attempt to rally supporters and intensify opposition to any potential policy shift.
“Whoever accepts Israel will be destroyed… This act of hostility will continue forever,” he said while addressing supporters.
Kasuri also portrayed the broader Islamic alliance as being driven not by political leadership but by sacrifices made “in the path of Allah”.
Security experts and sources, however, reportedly viewed the speech as politically calculated and suggested the rhetoric may have been intended to help Pakistan’s military leadership resist any possible pressure from the United States to support diplomatic engagement with Israel.
