New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, expressing gratitude for ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indian community during the recent West Asia conflict.

During the meeting, Jaishankar conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed ways to further strengthen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

In a post on X, Jaishankar said he was “deeply honoured” to meet the UAE President and thanked him for his continued support to the Indian diaspora during a challenging period. He also acknowledged the UAE leadership’s guidance in advancing bilateral ties.

As part of his visit, Jaishankar also met Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, where he reiterated India’s appreciation for the UAE’s efforts in supporting the Indian community, particularly in Dubai.

He further held talks with Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the UAE. Their discussions focused on the evolving regional situation and its broader implications, along with the continued strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

Jaishankar expressed confidence that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE would continue to deepen.

During his visit, the minister also interacted with members of the Indian diaspora in Abu Dhabi. He highlighted the Government of India’s efforts to ensure their safety amid the regional tensions and appreciated their contributions to the UAE’s society.

He also acknowledged the UAE government’s continued support in safeguarding the welfare of the Indian community during difficult times.
