Hyundai Motor Group has appointed PSA Cargo Solutions (SEA) as lead logistics service orchestrator for its advanced manufacture of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Singapore.

Hyundai’s smart factory based in Singapore’s Jurong Innovation District—Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center (HMGIC)—will produce to the first EVs ever to be made in Singapore.

PSA’s logistics contract is one product of a 2020 MoU and will cover control tower management, regulatory compliance, warehousing, EV pre-assembly, and port-to-plant handling.

Dr Chi Youngcho, president and CIO of Hyundai Motor Group, said, “This is not merely a typical logistics service-and-supply partnership, but a strategic collaboration that will provide the platform to re-imagine the way mobility is created, delivered, and defined.”

PSA International group CEO Tan Chong Meng, said: “Advanced manufacturing, intelligent mobility, and electric vehicles are key pathways in Singapore’s future innovation and sustainability roadmap.
