Former Hyundai Glovis chief Kyung-bae Kim has been nominated as the new CEO of HMM.

HMM said it had selected Kim from multiple candidates considering a range of skills including leadership, global capability and expertise. He was seen as providing steady growth for Hyundai Glovis during his nine years in charge.

Kim’s nomination as CEO will tabled at a regular shareholders’ meeting of HMM on 29 March.

“As a veteran with broad experiences and capabilities at the executive level, he is expected to play a significant role in laying a foundation for the sustainable growth of HMM and expanding its presence in the global market,” HMM said.
