The Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF) seized 25,000 live cartridges allegedly being smuggled to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and arrested six suspects in connection with an interstate ammunition racket.

Five suspects were arrested near Rohad toll plaza in Jhajjar on Tuesday, while a sixth, identified as Vijay Goel, was arrested in Sirsa following questioning.

Police recovered 24,400 cartridges from a Tata Harrier and another 600 from a Hyundai Aura. The ammunition included 7.65mm (.32 bore) and .315 bore cartridges.

Investigators identified Munna Khan, owner of Badaun Gun House in Uttar Pradesh, as the alleged kingpin, while Goel, who operates Mehak Gun House in Sirsa, allegedly supplied the consignment.

DSP Shamsher Dahiya said the cartridges bore the “KF” marking, indicating they were manufactured at the ammunition factory in Khadki, Pune.

The racket is suspected to have operated for three years, with ammunition allegedly intended for criminal gangs and illegal arms manufacturers across several states. The case is being jointly investigated by Haryana, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh police.
