Maritime systems provider Elcome International is expanding is presence in the European market with a new office in Algeciras.

The office in the southern Spanish port will provide sales and technical support including for annual radio surveys and, annual testing of Automatic Identification Systems (AIS), and Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs), Long-range Tracking and Identification Systems (LRIT), as well as Ship Security Alert Systems (SSAS).

It is Elcome’s second office in Europe following its first in Seville last year. The company has appointed Jose Antonio Sanchez as technical manager for its European business and he will be based in the Algeciras office.

“Establishing the new office in Algeciras and placing a technical manager in Europe are important strategic moves for Elcome,” said Jimmy Grewal, Executive Director of Elcome International. “It gives us a direct service presence in one of the world’s most important seaports and will enable us to provide expeditious and local service for our customers across Europe and Africa.”
