PALAKKAD: Students at Victoria College in Kerala’s Palakkad district got an unexpected surprise on Thursday when a cobra was discovered hiding among books inside the college library.

The unusual sight triggered a brief moment of panic before the snake was safely rescued and relocated.

Students Discover Snake on Bookshelf

The incident came to light when students entered the library to collect books and noticed a snake curled up on a wooden shelf.

To their shock, the reptile had tucked itself among rows of books, apparently seeking shelter in the quiet surroundings of the library.

Using professional rescue techniques, Anoop carefully removed the snake from between the books and guided it into a plastic pipe before securing it inside a sack.

The rescued snake was identified as a cobra measuring approximately four feet in length.

Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident and the reptile was later relocated to a safer habitat away from the campus.
