Bengaluru Police have arrested a migrant labourer from Bihar for allegedly creating and sharing an AI-generated video depicting a bomb blast at Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the Karnataka legislature. The video went viral on social media on October 20, triggering public outrage and calls for strict action.

The accused, identified as Ali, allegedly first uploaded the clip to an Instagram account named “Jnx king Hg”, which has since been deactivated. In the caption, he reportedly claimed to have blown up Vidhana Soudha.

What Does the Viral Video Show?

The AI-generated clip depicts a person mimicking the action of pulling a trigger, followed by an explosion that destroys the Vidhana Soudha building. The video circulated widely across social media platforms, with users tagging Bengaluru Police and demanding action against its creator.

Police clarified that no actual explosion had occurred at Vidhana Soudha and confirmed that the video was fabricated using artificial intelligence.

Police Register FIR and Investigate Motive

Following the video’s circulation, Bengaluru Police arrested Ali on suspicion of creating and posting the misleading footage. An FIR has been registered, and investigators are questioning the accused to establish the motive behind the video.

The incident has raised concerns about the misuse of AI-generated content to create threatening visuals that could mislead the public and cause unnecessary panic.

Police have warned against using artificial intelligence to produce or circulate fabricated threats and alarming content. The investigation is ongoing.
