The Baltic dry index rose 2.2% to 2,732 on Friday, its highest level since July 27.
The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes, including iron ore and coal, advanced 3.1% to 4,296, its highest level in two weeks.
The panamax index, which usually carries 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, increased 2.3% to an over one-week high of 2,087.
On the other hand, the supramax index decreased to 1,609, its lowest level since June 8.
Considering July, the Baltic dry index rose 9.2%.
