The Baltic dry index fell 1.2% to 2,632 on Wednesday, its lowest in four weeks.
The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000 ton cargoes, including iron ore and coal declined 1.8% to 4,067, its lowest since July 21.
Also, the supramax index decreased 1.2% to 1,628, its lowest level since June 10.
On the other hand, the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, increased 0.4% to 1,995.
