HYDERABAD: Two workers were killed and nine others injured after a reactor blast triggered a fire at a pharmaceutical unit in Telangana’s Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district late Friday night, police said.
The incident took place at a pharmaceutical company in Pochampally mandal while workers were changing shifts, according to police.
“Two persons died. Nine people were injured, including two who suffered more than 50% burns while seven sustained minor injuries,” a police official told PTI.
The injured workers were admitted to different hospitals for treatment, the official said.
The blast triggered a fire at the unit, which was later brought under control by the Fire Department.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the cause of the blast.
