Air Serbia diverted a flight bound for Moscow back to Belgrade late Tuesday after information prompted additional security checks on a passenger, the airline said.

The aircraft turned back approximately halfway to Moscow and landed in Belgrade, according to Flightradar24.

The airline said its crew followed instructions from the relevant authorities and complied with all security procedures. Passengers will be informed about the flight’s further arrangements.

Air Serbia continues to operate regular flights to Moscow and other Russian cities despite Serbia condemning Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine and not imposing sanctions on Moscow.
