90POE, the maritime technology company behind OpenOcean STUDIO, today announced the launch of Commercial Voyage Management (CVM) – a connected suite built into the OpenOcean STUDIO platform that unifies voyage estimation, chartering execution, and itinerary management in a single native workflow.

The launch comes at a moment when the market is converging on a shared problem: the gap between chartering decisions and what actually happens at sea. Chartering and operations teams have historically built detailed pre-voyage models, then lost sight of the commercial picture once a vessel is fixed. Operational changes – port call delays, bunker overruns, and revised ETAs, accumulate in separate systems, and the commercial impact only becomes visible at end-of-voyage reconciliation. By then, the opportunity to act has passed.

One connected commercial workflow

Commercial Voyage Management brings together three modules that have historically operated in isolation – the Voyage Estimator, Chartering Voyages, and a significantly enhanced Vessel Itinerary – all part of the wider OpenOcean STUDIO platform. Unlike standalone commercial systems that require integration with operational platforms, all three sit inside the same environment. Once a vessel is fixed, the estimate flows directly into the live voyage record, and every confirmed itinerary change – updated ETAs, additional port calls, revised bunker quantities – automatically recalculates TCE in real time.

Actuals from vessel reports replace estimates as the voyage progresses, and automated FIFO bunker pricing removes the need for manual cost-matching at close-out. The result is a continuous, accurate commercial picture from first estimate to final accounts.

Key Capabilities

Dynamic TCE that recalculates in real time as operational changes are confirmed
Automatic sync between the Vessel Itinerary and Chartering Voyages
Actuals from voyage reports flowing directly into the commercial records
Automated FIFO bunker pricing from linked purchase orders
Support for OPL waiting positions, provisional port calls, and non-port locations
Consolidated notes, berthing records, and historical corrections – all within the itinerary

Abs Kapur, CEO, 90POE comments;

“We have worked closely with our customers to build Commercial Voyage Management as a single workflow built natively into the platform that operators are already running. One environment, one record, zero need for constant reconciliation. Not an afterthought or integration between disparate commercial and operational systems. This arms our clients with a real-time and up to date voyage P&L that refreshes live. With OpenOcean STUDIO operators can now be proactive, diagnose variances to plan and protect their margins while there’s still time to act.”
