BENGALURU: Astronaut and IAF group captain Shubhanshu Shukla commenced his session at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 on Thursday with a humorous remark regarding the city’s notorious traffic: “I journeyed from the other side of Bengaluru – Marathahalli – and spent three times the length of this presentation merely reaching the venue. Therefore, you must acknowledge the dedication I possess.” Later in the day, IT minister Priyank Kharge alluded to this comment during his speech at the Future Makers Conclave, utilizing it as a humorous anecdote about the city’s traffic issues. “As Shubhanshu Shukla mentioned, it was simpler for him to travel from space to Bengaluru, yet getting from Marathahalli to here (Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, approximately 30km away) proved to be somewhat challenging,” Kharge remarked, further stating, “We will ensure that such a situation does not occur again.”
