HYDERABAD — The family of Kanoor Nagaraju, a 30-year-old man from Armoor in Nizamabad, who has been missing in Doha, Qatar since May 26, has appealed to the Telangana Chief Minister for help in locating him and providing legal support if necessary.
Nagaraju has been living and working in Qatar for the past nine years, employed as a security guard at a mall under a private security services company. His sudden disappearance has left his family in distress, prompting them to escalate the matter to both state and central authorities.
On June 12, the family submitted a formal request to the Union Ministry of External Affairs, seeking assistance to trace his whereabouts. With no updates so far, they have now approached the Chief Minister’s Office, urging the government to take up the matter with the Indian Embassy in Qatar.
On Tuesday, Nagaraju’s father, Narayana, submitted a letter addressed to the Chief Minister to officials at Pravasi Praja Vani, held at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad. He was accompanied by Mandha Bheem Reddy, vice-chairman of the State NRI Advisory Committee.
In the letter, Narayana urged the state to coordinate with Indian authorities abroad to verify if his son has been arrested and, if so, arrange legal aid through the Indian embassy to secure his release.
The family hopes swift intervention from the state and central government will help bring clarity to Nagaraju’s situation and ensure his safe return.
