Pune: Customs officials at Lohegaon airport seized narcotics valued at ₹2.61 crore from a passenger arriving on an Air India Express flight (IX-241) from Bangkok on Thursday.
The passenger was intercepted during checks, and officials recovered 5.23 kg of a white crystalline and powdered substance. Laboratory analysis confirmed it to be Methaqualone, a recreational drug banned under Indian law.
The contraband was seized, and the passenger was arrested under the NDPS Act, customs authorities said. Further investigations are underway.
