PPA S.A. actively participated in the anniversary event of the Hellenic-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Tourism & Shipping, marking 30 years since its establishment (1995–2025), titled “Bridging Cultures and Building Futures in the Sino-Hellenic Business Relations.”
The event was honored by the presence of Former Prime Minister, Mr. Kostas Karamanlis, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Greece, Mr. Fang Qiu, the Mayor of Pudong, Shanghai, Mr. Wu Jincheng, as well as representatives of the Greek government, the diplomatic community, national and international chambers and members of the business community.
A particularly significant moment of the evening was the awarding of personalities who have made a decisive contribution to the long-standing strengthening of Hellenic-Chinese relations, including Mr. Kostas Karamanlis, Mr. Giorgos Anomeritis, Mr. Fang Qiu, Mr. Wu Jincheng, Mr. Giorgos Prokopiou and Mr. Kyriakos Dermatis.
Within the context of the event, the Chairman of the Piraeus Port Authority (PPA S.A.), Mr. Han Chao, conveyed warm wishes and congratulations to the Chamber, highlighting its decisive contribution to the continuous enhancement of Hellenic-Chinese relations and the business cooperation between the two countries.
The Chairman underlined that COSCO SHIPPING and PPA S.A. continue, with consistency and strategic commitment, the work of upgrading the Port of Piraeus, with the aim of elevating it into a truly world-class port. As he emphasized, Piraeus’ path toward the future is based on the combination of digital transformation, green investments and modernized infrastructure, which reinforce its role as a dynamic and competitive international hub.
At the same time, he stressed that the cooperation between Greece and China is founded not only on business synergies, but also on the steady strengthening of the ties between the two peoples. The success of this cooperation is reflected in tangible, mutual benefits and shared development prospects, which shape a strong strategic foundation for the future.
