NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to convene the first meeting of the Council of Ministers this week, marking a key moment following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor and just days ahead of completing the first year of his third term in office.

According to sources, ministers were informed about the planned meeting on Wednesday, though the official agenda is yet to be circulated. Traditionally, these meetings involve detailed presentations from various government departments on the progress and impact of flagship schemes and programmes, providing a comprehensive overview for all ministers.

While the final agenda remains under wraps, officials indicate that discussions may include India’s precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, as well as preparations for an extensive public outreach campaign to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the Modi government.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had privately briefed cabinet ministers on Operation Sindoor and advised them to refrain from making political statements on the matter. He has also urged ministers to approach all public engagements with diligence and preparation, often citing his own practice of meticulously reviewing details before making any public address.

In recent weeks, several cabinet members were provided with curated articles—along with Hindi translations—highlighting the significance of Operation Sindoor and India’s intensified stance against terrorism. These materials were shared following the last cabinet meeting earlier this month to ensure ministers are well-informed and aligned in their communication.

The upcoming Council of Ministers meeting is expected to reinforce strategic priorities and set the tone for the government’s next phase of implementation and outreach.
