Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Ashok Yadav, stated on Sunday that Operation Sindoor remains active and any actions taken by Pakistan will be met with a robust response.
He mentioned that while numerous launching pads and forward positions along the Line of Control have been neutralized, some still exist, and terrorists continue to be located there.
In a conversation with reporters in Srinagar, Ashok Yadav remarked, “Throughout Operation Sindoor, the Army and Border Security Force have eliminated various launching pads and multiple forward positions of Pakistan. Measures have been implemented to address the compromised launching pads, which were particularly vulnerable. Nevertheless, many launching pads along the LoC remain operational, and some terrorists are still present in those areas… We are committed to preventing any infiltration attempts… Operation Sindoor is ongoing, and any actions from Pakistan will receive an appropriate response…
India initiated Operation Sindoor on May 7 as a reaction to the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. This operation was a focused effort aimed at dismantling the terror infrastructure along the Line of Control and further within Pakistan.
In a related development, the Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated its Diamond Jubilee and 61st Raising Day, showcasing notable operational successes of the Frontier Headquarters Jammu. The BSF emphasized its vital role along both the International Border with Pakistan and the Line of Control, working in close collaboration with the Indian Army, as stated by the PRO BSF.
Adhering to its motto “Jeevan Paryant Kartavya”, BSF Jammu reiterated its dedication to protecting the border with the highest level of vigilance, thereby fostering a secure environment for the local border population.
As per the announcement, BSF Jammu is responsible for approximately 200 km of the International Border (IB) with Pakistan and is also stationed along the Line of Control (LC) in conjunction with the Indian Army.
In the year 2025, BSF Jammu was instrumental in Operation Sindoor, an Indian security initiative, while concurrently confronting various challenges arising from Pakistan, such as cross-border firing, infiltration attempts, narcotics trafficking, and drone activities.
