In 2025, Ningbo-Zhoushan port reported cargo throughput exceeding 1.4 billion tonnes and container throughput above 43 million TEUs, positioning it to lead global cargo volume for a 17th consecutive year and maintain a top three position in container traffic, according to the company’s statement.

Outgoing vessel calls reached about 300 per day across 309 container services linking to more than 700 ports in over 200 countries and regions.

The port’s navigational capacity increased following the trial opening of an expanded 300,000-tonne channel on 26 December 2025, enabling dual-channel access for ultra-large vessels and boosting throughput efficiency.

By year-end, more than 110 sea–rail intermodal routes served 69 prefecture-level cities across 16 Chinese provinces, and inland dry ports numbered 40, with intermodal volume over 2 million TEUs.

Reported logistics innovations included shortened China–Europe transit times via a regular “Ningbo-Zhoushan port–Wilhelmshaven” fast service and the launch of a China–Europe Arctic express route.
