Visakhapatnam: A mild earthquake struck Visakhapatnam at approximately 4:20 AM on Tuesday, triggering panic among residents. The epicenter is believed to be located near G Madugula village in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, from where the tremors were felt across various parts of the city.
Residents in areas such as Murali Nagar, Gajuwaka, Madhurawada, MVP Colony, and Gopalapatnam reported feeling the vibrations and hurried out of their homes in fear.
Preliminary reports indicate that the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale at its epicenter in G Madugula.
While authorities confirmed that the quake was of low intensity and there have been no reports of damage to property or casualties, they have urged residents to remain vigilant as a precaution.
