NEW DELHI: A brief encounter unfolded in Mehrauli on Saturday morning as Delhi Police tracked down and arrested wanted criminal Koku Pahadia, who was injured during a gunfight with officers.
According to officials, Pahadia opened fire on the police team while attempting to flee. In the exchange, two officers’ bulletproof jackets were hit, and a constable sustained a minor arm injury.
Police managed to overpower and arrest the accused, who was then rushed to a hospital. He is reportedly in stable condition.
Pahadia is a notorious offender wanted in multiple criminal cases, including illegal arms supply, officials said. A case has been registered, and a detailed investigation into his network and recent activities is underway.
