NEW DELHI — A devastating fire broke out at a polythene factory near Rithala Metro Station in northwest Delhi on Tuesday evening, claiming three lives and leaving three others injured, Delhi Police confirmed on Wednesday.
According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS) chief Atul Garg, the blaze was reported at around 7:25 pm from a factory premises in the area.
A total of 16 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to battle the flames. As of the latest updates, firefighting operations are still underway, with teams working intensively to bring the situation under control and prevent further damage.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Authorities are expected to launch a detailed investigation once the area is secured.
