BHOPAL: In a gruesome incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district, a 25-year-old man, along with two accomplices, murdered his friend over a financial dispute, recorded the act on video, and sent the footage to the victim’s family. All three accused have been arrested.

The main accused, Rajnish Mishra, was seen in the video slitting the throat of his 21-year-old friend, Abhishek Tripathi, a resident of Pipraha village, in a forested area. The video, which surfaced on May 7, was sent directly to Abhishek’s relatives, prompting them to contact the police immediately.

Police arrested one of the accused, Rajkumar (19), of Dulhara village, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time of his arrest. On May 8, Abhishek’s body was recovered from the Bhokri forest area. The other two suspects—Rajnish Mishra and Adarsh Mishra (23)—were apprehended on May 9 and all three were sent to jail the following day.

“It was a premeditated murder rooted in a financial dispute. Rajnish slit the victim’s throat while another held him down. The third accused recorded the killing, and the video was later shared with the victim’s family,” said Additional SP Vivek Lal.

Sources revealed that the trio had lured Abhishek to the forest under the guise of a party, where they beat him with sticks before executing the fatal attack. The video was reportedly also circulated on social media by the accused.
