DHAR: In a shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district, a 17-year-old Class 12 student was murdered by her classmate after she reportedly stopped speaking to him, police said on Sunday.
The girl’s body was found on Saturday in an agricultural field under the jurisdiction of the Umarban police post, about 70 km from the district headquarters. Authorities launched an investigation after being alerted to the murder.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Gitesh Garg, initial inquiries revealed that the girl had been facing harassment from a male classmate. During questioning, the accused confessed to killing her, citing anger over her decision to cut off contact.
Police said the accused lured the girl to a field on Friday night, where he attacked and killed her with a sharp weapon.
Investigators have sent evidence for forensic analysis, and further legal action is expected based on the results.
