NEW DELHI: On Saturday, Rajasthan Intelligence apprehended Mangat Singh, a resident of Govindgarh in Alwar district, on allegations of espionage for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) under the Official Secrets Act of 1923. According to police reports, Mangat came under scrutiny during surveillance operations conducted near the Alwar cantonment area, where his actions were deemed suspicious. Investigations indicated that he had allegedly been honey-trapped by a Pakistani female handler using the alias “Isha Sharma.” Officials stated that the handler had enticed Singh with promises of financial gain in exchange for confidential information pertaining to sensitive defense zones. A case has been filed at the Special Police Station, CID Intelligence, in Jaipur, and Mangat was taken into custody on Friday. Police sources have indicated that further investigations are ongoing to ascertain the extent of the information shared and to identify any additional connections within the espionage network.
