Ahmedabad: A minor argument at a dal-vada stall in the Shah-e-Alam area of Isanpur turned horrific on Saturday night when a 36-year-old daily wage labourer was attacked with hot oil, leaving him with severe burn injuries on his legs and thighs.

According to police, the victim and his wife had stopped at a food stall near Shalimar Talkies when they witnessed a man using abusive language with the vendor. The victim intervened and asked him to stop, which enraged the accused.

In a sudden act of violence, the accused allegedly grabbed a pan of boiling oil from the stall and poured it on the victim. The oil splashed across his left thigh, leg, arm, and buttocks, causing deep burns.

The injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said an FIR has been registered at Isanpur police station, and further investigation is underway to identify and arrest the accused.
