NOIDA: A man has been taken into custody after his speeding Thar SUV allegedly rammed into a motorcycle and dragged it for several kilometres in the Thana Badalpur area of Greater Noida on Thursday.

According to police, the incident began when the driver of the SUV allegedly tried to escape from a petrol pump without paying for fuel. A salesman at the pump reportedly pursued the vehicle on his motorcycle in an attempt to stop him.

During the chase, the Thar driver allegedly struck the motorcycle, causing it to topple and injuring the rider. The bike was dragged for a considerable distance, creating panic in the area.

The injured salesman, identified as Kuldeep Sharma, was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently said to be in stable condition.

Police have identified the accused as Harsh, son of Manoj, and confirmed that he has been taken into custody. The Thar vehicle involved in the incident has been seized, and further legal proceedings are underway. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter.
