DEIR AL-BALAH: Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Monday left at least 31 people dead, health officials reported, as the military pressed its offensive on the enclave’s largest city.
The bombardment coincided with a statement from prominent genocide scholars and rights groups, who accused Israel of committing genocide—allegations Israel has firmly denied.
On the outskirts of Gaza City and in the Jabaliya refugee camp, residents described explosive-laden robots used to demolish buildings. “Another merciless night in Gaza City,” said Saeed Abu Elaish, a Jabaliya-born medic now sheltering in the city’s northwest.
Hospitals confirmed that more than half of those killed in Monday’s strikes were women and children.
