Thane: Four members of a family were evacuated after the first-floor gallery of their ground-plus-one-story chawl tenement fell in the early hours of Friday, officials said. Yasin Tadvi, in charge of the Thane regional disaster management cell, said the tragedy occurred about 2 a.m. in the Gujarati chawl when the chawl’s 15-foot-long gallery fell, trapping four members of the Kushwaha family in their first-floor room.
