In a striking intersection of faith and crime, CCTV footage from Bhojpur has captured an unusual moment—one of the accused in a ₹10.09 crore jewellery heist was seen bowing in reverence as his bike passed the famous Aranya Devi temple, moments before carrying out the crime.
The footage, reportedly from the morning of March 10, presents an almost surreal contrast. Two men on a bike—one masked and helmeted, the other with his face uncovered—navigate the bustling streets near Gopali Chowk. As they approach the revered Aranya Devi temple, one of them clasps his hands together in devotion, seeking blessings from the goddess believed to protect the town.
Unbeknownst to the town, within minutes of this act of faith, a daring robbery would unfold.
By 10:30 a.m., a gang of six armed men stormed into a prominent jewellery showroom, executing their plan with precision and making off with bags full of jewellery worth ₹10.09 crore.
The paradox of the moment—faithful devotion preceding a major crime—has left the town both stunned and perplexed.
