NEW DELHI: What was meant to be a joyous lead-up to a wedding turned into a nightmare for a South Delhi family after thieves looted their home in CR Park’s B Block on Monday, making off with gold, silver, and cash worth several crores.
The burglary took place while the family was out shopping for their daughter’s wedding, which is scheduled for June 7. Upon returning, they found the main gate lock broken and the house ransacked.
Sunita Gupta, the homeowner, reported that the thieves stole around 1 kg of gold, 1 kg of silver, and ₹20 lakh in cash. CCTV footage from the residence reportedly captured two unidentified men suspected to be behind the theft.
Police have registered a case based on Gupta’s complaint and launched an investigation. No arrests have been made so far.
