New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta chaired a high-level meeting on Friday with senior officials and departmental heads to assess the progress of public welfare schemes, infrastructure initiatives, and core sectors such as education, healthcare, transport, and water supply.

During the review, CM Gupta called for a clear prioritization of departmental goals and strict adherence to implementation timelines. She instructed departments to adopt a structured approach, including the preparation of working charts and submission of regular progress updates to the Chief Secretary.

Emphasizing accountability and service delivery, Gupta stressed that efficient grievance redressal must be a top priority. “Announcing schemes is not enough—ensuring their timely and effective execution is equally important,” she said.

The chief minister assured full support to officials carrying out their responsibilities with dedication, while warning that negligence would not be tolerated.

Focus on Action-Oriented Governance

The meeting addressed a wide array of pressing civic issues, including the availability of essential medicines, diagnostic equipment in hospitals, water shortages, pollution, traffic congestion, infrastructure upgrades, and responsive governance.

Departments have been asked to finalize action plans for the next 100 days, six months, and nine months, with consistent progress reports to be submitted for real-time review. Gupta said this system will enable quick decision-making and ensure projects stay on track.

She also urged departments to act swiftly on key concerns, especially those affecting everyday life in the city. “There must be no compromise on the availability of medical resources or the pace of developmental work,” she said.

A Vision for a Model City

“The quality of work and commitment to public service is non-negotiable,” Gupta stated. “Our government is committed to delivering better services, transparent governance, and timely development for every citizen.”

Reaffirming her government’s commitment, she added, “The people of Delhi have placed their trust in us. It’s now our duty to deliver on every promise. With unified effort from all departments, Delhi can be transformed into a model city for the nation.”
